The Guide to the Characters of Dragon Ball GT
Android #17:
Created for one sole purpose, #17's mission is to destroy Goku. Constructed from a human base, #17 is not completely mechanical. During GT #17 is destined to become one with another Android #17 duplicate in order to form Super Android 17. His duplicate's evil wishes finally come true when he is convinced to become one powerful being and unleash his ultimate power.
Android #18:
#17's twin sister, #18 has identical fighting strength. Like her brother, she is also created from a human base. She is married to Krillin and has a daughter named Maron. As Krillin gets older she seems to remain with her beauty, but only changes hair stlye.
Baba:
Master Roshi's sister, the witch Baba uses her magic crystal ball to see any place on Earth and into the future. She also has the unique ability to travel between Earth and Heaven without dying.
Bebi:
Bebi is the last of his kind, Tsufuru-jin. He is on the loose with vengeance on his mind, destroying the Saiyans is his main goal. After controlling all of Earth with the exception of Majin Buu and Mr. Satan, he awaits a battle with Goku. Bebi in Vegeta's body has the battle of a lifetime with Goku in which in turn we see Goku undergo his SS4 and Golden Oozaru transformations.
Blackstar Shenron:
In Dragon Ball GT, after the death of Super #17, Goku and his friends put together the 7 Dragon Balls. Instead of Shenron appears a black dragon, that represents the negative energy accumulated for many years (because the Dragon Balls use positive energy). This Dragon is then divided into 7 evil shenrons, each for every Dragon Ball.
Bra:
The second child of Bulma and Vegeta, Bra plays little role in the series. She looks very much like her mother, and shares many aspects of her personality. Bra serves mostly as comic relief.
Bubbles:
Bubbles is the King Kai's pet monkey. His job is to act as the preliminary test in Kai's martial arts training by running away from trainees and forcing them to chase him. He's a very fast, playful monkey, and he does not speak much.
Bulma:
Bulma has blue hair, and is the mother of Trunks. Although Bulma has no skills as a fighter, she is a genius with all sorts of electronics, alien and domestic. She and Vegeta start to show more affection for each other after he is possessed by Bebi. Her invention is the main thing that gets Vegeta to his new found power, Super Saiyan 4.
Cell:
Cell makes a return along with his new partner Frieza. They both take on chibi Goku in a tag-team fight. Since Cell can no longer die, he gives it his all without the thought of death to stop him. Although he can't die, he is frozen by a machine in the other world.
Chii Shenron:
Dragon of the seven black stars Dragon Ball. The negative energy that created him is the same that was used to revive all the people killed by Majin Vegeta. This dragon first appears as a big mole, that creates earthquakes. He then shows his real aspect, a big dragon with two tails.
Dr. Brief:
Dr. Brief is the founder and CEO of the Capsule Corporation. He is the genius responsible for creating many of the handy devices that Bulma uses on her adventures. Everything in the series that is spawned from one of those dynamic capsules was invented by either Dr. Brief or Bulma. Dr. Brief plays a pretty small role in the story, and is often used as comic relief.
Dr. Gero:
In GT Dr. Gero teams up with Dr. Myuu(both in the other world). They create an Android #17 duplicate which will seek the original Android #17 and unite to become the ultimate android, Super Android #17.
Dr. Myuu:
Dr. Myuu is the person responsible for Bebi. He had found Bebi floating in space and he rebuilt him using robot parts. Bebi didn't show any sympathy and killed Dr. Myuu. Once in Hell he met Dr. Gero and set out a plan to get revenge on Goku. Their creation turns out to be Super #17, Dr. Myuu shortly after betrays Dr. Gero and makes Super #17 kill him. Not long after that Super #17 turns on Dr. Myuu and kills him.
Elder Supreme Kai:
He was a ruling Kai, the Supreme Kai, fifteen generations before the current Supreme Kai. Elder Supreme Kai was tricked and trapped in the Legendary Z Sword. Thanks to Gohan he was released from it. Now he helps the Z warriors along with the fused Kibito and Supreme Kai.
Emperor Pilaf:
The Emperor is an insufferable, power hungry dolt whose consuming desire is to rule the entire world. But outside of ambition, he has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. In fact, the only thing that can be said for him is that he’s a largely incompetent, yet somehow succeeds in spite of himself. With the help of Mai and Shu, Emperor Pilaf gets the Black Star Dragon Balls to wish Goku back to his child form.
Frieza:

Gohan:
Gohan is married to Videl and has a daughter named Pan. Ten years later after then end of Dragon Ball Z, he is a scholar and has pretty much given up on training. He is not seen a lot in the series like in DBZ but still has the capacity to take on the strongest opponents.
Goku:
Goku is turned into a child thanks to a wish made by Emperor Pilaf. Trunks, Pan, and Goku go on their first adventure to retrieve the Dragon Balls. While they were gone, Bebi has been causing chaos on Earth. Goku ends up reaching his ultimate form Super Saiyan 4 and defeats Bebi. After he killed Bebi, he is reunited with some old enemies, Dr. Gero and Android 17, along with Dr. Myuu. Together they had created Super 17 which is killed by Goku using his Dragon Fist attack. After this battle 7 shenrons come out of the cracking Dragon Balls, Goku and the Z Warriors fight off the evil shenrons. After defeating them all, Goku absorbs the Dragon Balls and flies off on the eternal Dragon.
Goku Jr.:
Goku Jr. is seen in the last episode of Dragon Ball GT and in the Dragon Ball GT TV Special. In the series he is fighting in a World Tournament against Vegeta Jr. Goku Jr. is one sixteenth Saiyan and fifteen sixteenths Human. Pan is the grandmother of Goku Jr.
Goten:
Goten is now a grown up teenager. He is always trying to impress this girl he has a crush on. He is still the same eating crazed kid as before but can really get serious in a fight. While fighting Bebi he gets a cut, which in turn is the reason why Bebi possessed him. He doesn't play a big role in the series but is seen when trying to be the hero.
Ii Shenron:
Dragon of the one black star Dragon Ball. The negative energy that created him is the same that was used to restore Earth after the battle with Majin Buu. This is a an eletric dragon and the last in Dragon Ball GT. This dragon fuses with the seven black star Dragon Balls, increasing his power.
King Kai (AKA North Kai):
Living in the 'Next Dimension,' King Kai is known throughout the universe as one of the greatest fighters and martial arts teachers (although his teaching methods are rather unorthodox). His house is on a tiny planet at the end of Snake Way. The small planet has ten times the gravity of Earth, and is thus an ideal training site. Like in DBZ, he's there to help give Goku advice in time of need.
Krillin:
Krillin was a little monk who trained with Goku under Master Roshi. As he grew up, he married Android #18 and became the father of Maron. Now he just drives around with his wife and daughter buying stuff in shopping malls.
Launch:
On one hand, Launch is a nice, sweet, friendly, innocent, unassuming young woman but then she sneezes, and becomes a tough, fiery, uncontrollable combative warrior. She had fallen in love with Tien, every time she's shown in the series she's being accompanied by Tien and Chiaotzu.
Ledgic:
Ledgic is the personal bodyguard of Don Kea, the ruler of Planet Imegga. This is the first planet where Goku, Pan and Trunks land on to search for the Dragon Balls. He is a pretty strong opponent, and was able to take Goku down. Once Goku goes Super Saiyan the tables turn, and is easily defeated.
Mai:
Mai is the Emperor Pilaf's right hand woman, and the only one who he really trusts to carry out his bidding. She’s a beautiful, calculating and a formidable opponent. She helps Emperor Pilaf get the Black Star Dragon Balls to wish Goku back to his child form.
Maron:
Maron is the now grown up daughter of Krillin and Android #18. Not a major character in the series, and is seen very little. The times she is seen are with Krillin and Android #18 shopping in some mall.
Mr. Satan (AKA Hercule):
Mr. Satan has always been a champion at gaining credit for himself. He is not always the tough guy he appears to be, in fact he can be quite cowardly. He is still good friends with his dog Bee and Majin Buu.
Mrs. Brief:
Mrs. Brief is the wife of Dr. Brief and the mother of Bulma. She plays a very small role in the story, but talks a lot. She has the sunniest disposition in the series, and is impecably nice to everyone.
Nappa:
Nappa was the fellow warrior and Saiyan with Vegeta. He is seen very mildly in this series, when Hell opens up he escapes aling with other dead warriors. Vegeta meets up with him and kills him again.
Pan:
Pan is Goku's grandaughter. She is the most powerful female in all of Dragon Ball. Pan is 1/4 Saiyan, and she is Gohan and Videl's daughter. Pan is very adventurous, and can get into trouble, usually with Trunks and Goku. Trunks, Goku, and Pan go many places together in search of the Black Star Dragon Balls in GT.
Oolong:
He’s a shape-shifting pig who joined forces with the good guys. He attended the same shape-shifting school as Puar, but cheated to pass. Oolong can only change shape for a short period of time and then has to rest. Not much of a fighter, he mostly hangs out at Master Roshi’s home.
Ox-King:
This giant of a man is Chi-Chi’s father. Once a great fighter, he trained under Master Roshi alongside Goku’s adoptive father, Gohan, but he rarely fights any more. Ox-King trained his daughter to be a formidable fighter, so that she could protect herself and her family. He visits Goku and Chi-Chi’s house often and enjoys eating meatloaf.
Rirudo:
Rirudo was a subordinate of Dr. Myuu. His mission was to track Goku down and retrieve the Dragon Balls. He has a unique talent, the ability to turn things into metal. When finally meets Goku, there is a long battle between them and Rirudo dies by the hand of Goku. He is later seen again when Hell opens and all the villains come back. After partially turning Gohan into metal he is killed by Goten and Trunks.
Ryan Shenron:
Dragon of the two black stars Dragon Ball. The negative energy that created him is the same that was used to revive Bora, Upa's father. This dragon got his power from a marsh.
Ryuu Shenron:
Dragon of the six black stars Dragon Ball. The negative energy that created her is the same that was used when Oolong wished for a pair of women's panties. This is a "female" dragon and is able to create big and strong whirl winds.
San Shenron:
Dragon of the three black stars Dragon Ball. This is the Ice dragon and Suh's brother.
Shenron:
Shenron is the eternal dragon of the Earth Dragon Balls. He is summoned many times throughout the Dragon Ball series. Shenron is the dragon responsible for granting many pivotal wishes in the series, including: Oolong's wish for women's panties; restoration of Piccolo Daimao's full power; revival of Goku for the fight with Vegeta and Nappa; Bulma's wish to revive the people killed by Majin Vegeta; and the revival of Bora. Shenron splits into the seven Evil beings in the Evil Shenron Saga of Dragon Ball GT. He merges with Goku at the end of GT, granting him ultimate power.
Shu:
Shu is a bumbling, furry ball of comic relief. He hasn’t carried out a successful mission yet, but Pilaf keeps him around so that he’s not surrounded by anyone too competent to overthrow him. A warrior and thief by trade, he is boastful when on top and a chicken when at risk. He helps Emperor Pilaf get the Black Star Dragon Balls to wish Goku back to his child form.
Suh Shenron:
Dragon of the four black stars Dragon Ball. The negative energy that created him is the same that was used to make Piccolo's father young again. This is the sun dragon, his temperature can arrive at 6000° C. After Goku turns into SS4, Suh changed his aspect becoming bigger and golden yellow.
Super #17:
Super #17 is the fusion between Android #17 and Hell Android #17. He is extremely strong and manages to defeat all of the Z Warriors. He also betrays Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu. He faces Super Saiyan 4 Goku and seems to have the battle won. Thanks to Android #18's distraction, Goku is able to do his Dragon Fist attack, thus breaking his power absorbtion. He then fires a Kamehameha to finally kill Super #17.
Tien:
Tien is Chiaotzu's chief bodyguard. His powers revolve around deception and multiplying various body parts. Tien, even though he makes few appearances later on, still plays a decent roll in Dragon Ball.
Trunks:
Trunks becomes the CEO of Capsule Corporation, but doesn't like the pressures of an office job so he often runs off flying through the air. When Goku is turned into a child, Vegeta makes Trunks accompany Goku and Pan to search the galaxy for the Black Star Dragon Balls. After all his space adventures, Trunks turns out to be a responsible young man.
Turtle:
Master Roshi’s friend and long-time companion, the good-natured Turtle lives in the Kame House with the elderly hermit. Turtle’s calming wisdom often serves to keep Master Roshi in line during his moments of weakness.
Uubu:
Uubu is the good-hearted human reincarnation of Majin Buu. He inherits Hercules' title of World's Greatest Fighter, and faces Goku at the 28th World Tournament. Goku takes Uubu back to his island to train him. He helps the Z Warriors out in battle throughout the series.
Uh Shenron:
Dragon of the five black stars Dragon Ball. The negative power that created him is the same that was used to revive Goku, before fighting against Vegeta and Nappa. This is an electric dragon; his height is less than 1 meter, but when absorbing electricity he becomes very tall.
Vegeta:
Vegeta lived in peace and has a daughter named Bra. Everything was normal until Vegeta's body is taken over by Bebi. Bebi Vegeta reached the Golden Oozaru form and is beaten by Goku. Bebi ends up leaving Vegeta's body and is destroyed by Goku. Vegeta's next battle was with Super #17. Vegeta proved to be no match for #17. Later on in the series, Vegeta used Bulma's Brute Ray to reach the Super Saiyan 4 level. He fused with Super Saiyan 4 Goku and they both fought Ii Shenron.
Vegeta Jr.:
Vegeta Jr. fights against Goku Jr. in the very last World Tournament shown in the series. Vegeta Jr. can go Super Saiyan like any other Saiyan descendent. His abilities are shown mildly so it appears as though he has very little abilities to use. Vegeta Jr. is the son of one of Bulma's descendent, she is shown cheering for him in the crowd of the tournament.
Videl:
Videl is Gohan's wife and they have a daughter, who is now older, named Pan. She isn't seen frequently in the series, she doesn't do much in this series either mostly their for character support.
Yajirobe:
Although fearful and glutenous, Yajirobe is unsurpassed by anyone in sword control. His blade mastery hardly makes up for his inability to control his Ki or even to fly, yet it does come in handy when all else fails. Living at Karin Tower, he is often the deliverer of Senzu beans to the Z warriors.
Yamcha:
Yamcha is first introduced as a desert bandit that robs people as they pass through his wasteland abode. He and Bulma are together for most of Dragon Ball and half of DBZ. Yamcha does not train much after the encounter with the Saiyans, yet remains capable fighter.
Zod:
Zod is a boy who lives in a village that is under attack by Ryuu Shenron. The other villagers saw Ryuu Shenron as a God, but Zod saw through the fake appearance. Zod was disturbed by the fact that Sea Gulls were suffering do to Ryuu Shenron's hurricanes. He notifies Pan and Goku, thanks to a Sea Gull, Pan is able to find Ryuu Shenron's weakness and defeats this evil dragon.
Zunama:
Zunama is a giant eel-like alien, he has the ability to cause earthquakes when ever he moves his antennas. He threatens the people of a small village by telling them that if they don’t do as he commands, he will create earthquakes. As a plan to cut off his antennas unfolds, it turns out that he could only predict earthquakes with them. Now, he uses this talent to help the people of the village.
