The Guide to the Characters of Dragon Ball Z

We aren't done with all of the Biographies. So to have at least something to offer for some of the Characters we haven't done yet, we simply posted the brief description from the Official Site.

Alien Announcer:

He is the announcer who hosts every Afterlife Tournament. This is the only time he appears in the series and all he does is give a play by play on what's going on in the fights. Like the World Tournament announcer, he tries to make everything that's going on in the platform exciting.

Android 13:

A rather skilled android, with a power level high enough to go on spar with Goku. He's tall, and calls the shots in his little gang. He has long silver-white hair, and wears a cap. In order to match the power of three super saiyans, he absorbs parts from his dead comrades, and becomes Super 13.

Android 14:

Android 14 is the tall, silent type. From the 7th movie, he accompanies androids 13 and 15 in their pursuit of Goku. Though he puts up a moderate fight, he is eventually sliced in half by Trunks.

Android 15:

Android 15 is short, irritable, and drinks whiskey. He seems to have the same lack of fashion sense that most of the androids display. Though he is a very cocky guy, he doesn't put up too good of a fight on his own, and has his head knocked off by Vegeta.

Android 16:

Android 16 is a failed model. Entirely mechanical, he was supposed to turn out to be the perfect weapon, but instead ended up caring about life. His only mission was to defeat Goku, and he would fight no one else unless he had to. After being damaged by Cell, Bulma rebuilt him, and he rejected his Red Ribbon affiliation. He tried to save Gohan from Cell by blowing himself and Cell up, but unfortunately, the bomb was removed, and Cell then destroyed 16.

Android 17:

Androids 17 and 18 are teenage androids. They are the ones responsible for the future threat to the Earth, prompting Trunks to come back to this time on Earth from the future to stop them. #17 is a black haired boy and #18 is a cute blond girl. Although she never stops being evil, #18 later softens up a little.

Android 18:

Androids 17 and 18 are teenage androids. They are the ones responsible for the future threat to the Earth, prompting Trunks to come back to this time on Earth from the future to stop them. #17 is a black haired boy and #18 is a cute blond girl. Although she never stops being evil, #18 later softens up a little.

Android 19:

Android 19 is an overweight android wearing a funny outfit. He is very passionate about eliminating our heroes and uses all the weapons he can. Androids 19 and 20 are the first androids to come to Earth in the Cell Saga. He is defeated by Vegeta in an amazing show of strength.

Android 20:

Android 20, the later form of Dr. Gero, is the most vicious and determined android of all. He won't give up. Androids 19 and 20 are the first androids to come to Earth in the Cell Saga. He takes on Piccolo, and is totally outclassed by him. He loses his hand, and proceeds to flee to his laboratory. He is destroyed by Android 17 upon his release.

Android 21:

The artificial life form created by Dr. Gero. He was created using the many Cells of the Z fighters, as well as their enemies. After incubating for many years, he is released in an alternate future, in his grown form. (see Cell)

Angela is a sweet, little high school girl, that is very good at getting her way through seduction and through sweet talking. She threatens to tell Gohan's secret if he doesn't go out with her. Unfortunately, Gohan thought that the secret was that she knew he was Great Saiyaman. The only thing Angela knew was that Gohan wore teddy bear underwear. They soon broke up and Angela found a new guy to seduce.

This is the man who hosts every World Martial Arts Tournament. This is actually the only time you see him and all he does is give a play by play on what's going on in the fight. Even though most of the characters find him annoying and don't care for his comments, he's still good at what he does.

From the East Quadrant of the Other World. He is unfortunate enough to get paired up with Goku in the 3rd match of the quarterfinals during the Other World Tournament. His strength comes in the water which is why he turned the tournament ring into a block of water. He fought a good fight but Goku triumphed in the end after a Kamehameha Wave knocked Argua and all the water out of the ring.

Baba is the comical sister of Master Roshi. Short and squat, she uses her crystal ball to see into the future or to see what is happening in the present in other locations. When the television coverage of the Saiyan fight is interrupted, Master Roshi, Bulma, Chi-Chi, Ox-King and Oolong gather around her ball to see how their friends and loved ones are doing.

Babidi is a magical creature who wishes to bring Majin Buu back to life. He has unusual magical powers. Babidi uses his powers to bring out the evil in people’s hearts and thus control them. His father was Bibidi, the creator of Majin Buu. Babidi seeks to gain enough energy to break Majin Buu’s seal and “re-hatch” him by draining energy from fighters on Earth.

Bardock is Goku's father, he is the leader of a low class crew of Saiyans who do Frieza's biddings. He is hit with an attack while on a mission in Planet Kanassa, that gives him the ability to see the future. He is easily killed by Frieza and dies with the rest of the Saiyans.

Bee is first seen as a puppy in the country side with a broken leg during the Majin Buu Saga. Majin Buu heals it and becomes very close to Mr. Satan and his new found dog.

Bibidi is a magical creature who created Majin Buu. He has unusual magical powers that bring out the evil in people’s hearts and thus control them. Bibidi has an underground ship with three levels, the third and lowest of which houses the “balled-up” Majin Buu, Majin Buu in his cocoon. His son is Babidi, who later seeks to gain enough energy to break Majin Buu’s seal and “re-hatch” him by draining energy from fighters on Earth.

Bido is the large henchman of Bojack's crew, who has a mohawk and orange goatee. He tag-teams with Bujin in order to take down the opponents that Bujin traps. Right before he kills Trunks, Vegeta blasts through the roof, knocking him and Bujin down. Later, he is killed when Gohan goes Super Saiyan 2.

A space pirate that is let loose on the universe due to King Kai's death. He has a power up which changes the green hue of his skin to a much lighter hue, and the power rips away his jacket. He is very powerful, easily taking down the Z fighters until SS2 Gohan defeats him.

Bra is Vegeta's second child, and only daughter. She is 6 at the end of DBZ, and wears a polka- dotted skirt. She has a lot of pride in her father however, and seems not to have either of her parent's flaring tempers. She, much like her mother, dyes her hair green in the anime (though not in the manga).

Brolly is an insanely powerful Saiyan that was driven to madness by Goku's incessant crying as a baby. He was born on the same day as Goku, and marked for death due to his power level of 10,000 at birth. However, he survived the assasination attempt, and lived for years with his father, Paragus, until he finally went insane, becoming a USSJ and killing him. He later went on to attempt to kill the Z fighters numerous times.

Bubbles is one fast Monkey. Bubbles is North Kai's pet, who appears when Goku first comes for training. Since the people chasing Bubbles are weighed down by the 10 times gravity, catching Bubbles is not easy. He can easily increase his speed if they get close to him, making people chase this little guy for months at a time.

Bujin is the short, turban-sporting henchman of Bojack. He has an ability which ties up the opponent with spider-silk-thin ki beams, which are amazingly strong, and can even pull people out of SSJ if they are not strong enough. He is ultimately killed by Super Saiyan 2 Gohan.

In Dragon Ball, Bulma was a mixed up teenager with blue hair and a personality quirk that wouldn't allow her to shut up for a second. Now, she's blossomed into a mixed up woman with that same personality quirk. But, Bulma is very important to the team. She is a mechanical genius who can operate and fix anything. She is the one that discovers the capabilities of the Saiyan Scouter and enhances it for their own use. She also takes the lead in finding a spaceship capable of flying to Namek. Bulma designed the Dragon Radar, which tracks the locations of the Dragon Balls. Bulma is also fashion conscious and changes clothing and hairstyles during the series. She often wears clothing with either her name or "Capsule Corporation" on the item. Bulma has known Goku since he was a young boy. In the original Dragon Ball, Bulma had a crush on Yamcha. Although their romance blossoms, it was not permanent. In Dragon Ball Z she outgrows these impulses and settles her affections on Vegeta . They have a son, appropriately named Trunks. The original name for Bulma stands for bloomers (or girl's underwear). Her father is Dr. Brief, of the famous Capsule Corporation.

Burter is a giant, blue, creature, he is one of the fastest beings alive. He's a member of the powerful Ginyu Force. His special attack is the Purple Spiral Flash Attack.

Gogeta is the fusion of Goku and Vegeta without the Portara earrings. He makes a short appearance in DBZ movie #12 against Janemba in the other world. Gogeta doesn't waste a moment in battle, quite different from Gotenks and Vegetto who enjoy taking their sweet time.

Named after his adoptive grandfather, Gohan is Goku and Chi-Chi's eldest son. He is idealistic, good and pure like his father. Gohan reveals his tremendous fighting potential when the earth is threatened. His heritage as part Saiyan and part human, make him stronger than if he were of one race alone. With Goku's departure to the next dimension and the eminent arrival of Saiyans stronger than Raditz, Gohan is key to the survival of Earth. Thus Piccolo, a former enemy of his father, joins forces with the good guys and trains Gohan for the upcoming battle. Over time, Gohan becomes friends with Piccolo, looks up to Piccolo and even wears similar clothing. Although initially a wimp, Gohan's training in the wilderness and subsequent fighting make him both brave and loyal. Following the fight on Earth, Gohan is determined to go with Bulma and Krillin to Namek to collect the seven Namekian Dragon Balls and help out his friends on Earth - especially since he feels he let them down during the fight on Earth. Gohan is key to the good guys success on Namek, risking his own life to save Dende, collecting Dragon Balls, traveling to see Guru who awakens a power sleeping within him, battling the Ginyu Force, etc. He will be the first to reach Super Saiyan 2 stage.

Goku is the hero of Dragon Ball Z, the most powerful warrior on earth and the first to become Super Saiyan in over 1000 years. When the Saiyans arrive, Goku learns the mysterious secret of his own past: He is a Saiyan formerly named Kakarot. Goku was sent to Earth as a baby to grow up and destroy the planet, but a head injury as a child scrambled Goku’s programming. Instead of growing up to become a destructive super-warrior, he became innocent and pure of heart, fighting for good. Goku is peaceful, good natured, honest, loving to his family and friends, loyal, trustworthy, brave. If he has a weakness, it is his trusting nature. He always finds the "good" in people when others don't see it, though Goku’s enemies sometimes take advantage of his naive trust. He originally trained under Master Roshi and wears his symbol until he trains under King Kai. Then he wears King Kai's symbol. Goku grows up and marries Chi-Chi. Together they have two sons: Gohan and Goten.

Vegeta is a powerful Saiyan. He is a 'Super Elitist' and a prince, the son of King Vegeta, past ruler of the Saiyans. Vegeta and his comrade Nappa are two of the last surviving Saiyans. They come to Earth to destroy all life and sell the planet. Though physically smaller than Goku, Vegeta can power up to unbelievable levels destroying entire planets. He is a fierce rival of Goku's, striving always to seek power levels as high or higher than Goku and to reach Super Saiyan level. Ambitious and determined, Vegeta wants the Dragon Balls to gain immortality. He is determined to destroy Frieza. After the Namek Saga he fights on the side of the good guys and becomes the father of Trunks.

With the use of the Portara earrings, Vegeta and Goku become Vegetto. Although he is not as arrogant as Gotenks, he does waste a lot of time, and his opponents often take advantage of this. The fusion is supposed to be permanent, but the laws of physics change once they enter Super Buu. Vegetto differs from Gogeta, as Vegeta is the dominant form in the fusion.
